The evening star brings all things safely home —
all creatures scattered by the shining dawn:
the sheep and goats it brings back to the fold
and to an anxious mother brings the child.

Ἔσπερε πάντα φέρων ὄσα φαίνολις ἐσκέδασ’ αὔως,
†φέρεις ὄιν, φέρεις† αῖγα, φέρεις ἄπυ μάτερι παῑδα.
